As an only child, much of my childhood was spent entertaining myself. I grew up fiercely independent, adventurous, and happiest outdoors.
Nature was my playground, my refuge, and in many ways my teacher. From dawn till dusk, many days were spent wandering local paddocks and bush, collecting nature's treasures along the way and creating hidden sanctuaries amongst the overgrowth. My imagination roamed freely, and these hidden places became homes away from home.
This work revisits those moments. It is a return to the feeling of joy in disappearing into nature, tucked away from the world, discovering beauty in the small things around you and dreaming freely. It reflects the freedom, curiosity, and quiet wonder of childhood, and the enduring connection nature.
